This is old news by now, but worth checking out nonetheless.  The LA Times has an article on Rage Against the Machine’s set being prevented by state authorities at the Ripple Effect, a concert held in Minnesota alongside the Republican Convention.
Below are the two songs Rage performed amongst the crowd, acappella with a megaphone.

John McCain Mashup Video - Yes We Can!

Boing Boing directed me to this video mixing John McCain with music and singers. Its worth a quick look. It certainly has the best use so far of the “Bomb bomb bomb Iran” soundbite.

The O’Reilly Radar brings attention to Jill Sobule, a singer/songwriter who has come up with a novel way to finance her next record. For a Laugh: Comedy Mashup Album

Mashup songs are always good for some novelty value, and this album of comedy mashups delivers double duty. I read about it in Boing Boing, so check out the link below. I’m with BB on this, the mashup of “Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah” vs Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” is the best of [...]

Japanese Music from the Road

A recent article in the technology section of The Guardian describes a Japanese initiative to put musical grooves onto Japanese roads. Here in Ontario, major highways have grooves in the shoulders that make a loud noise when you drive over them, with the intent to inform the driver that they are driving off the [...]
