He is in some way right. So much of the world's population lives in abject poverty, and in many ways we are running out of resources, e.g. what happens when China and India, with about 2.5B people total start to consume oil the way the US does? Anybody remember something called Lebensraum and the Southeast Asia Co-prosperity sphere? - I'm talking about Hitler's goal for WWII, and the Japanese, terribly resource poor, whose goal was to steal the oil, rice, tin, rubber etc of southeast asia.

I don't know what the world's sustainable population is, and it is possible to project a large reduction in pollution and some kind of endless (eg Fusion power source or an super-prolific oil plant) source of energy. But right now, things don't look good, the incentives are exactly backwards - e.g societies who value more and more children to take care of the older generation, until this all bumps up against a wall, and terrible wars sort it out.

So we ought to be thinking about this one. For example, the US has 300 mil people, I think Canada has 30 mil or so. They have lots of time to work things out, but what do we do, and what about all the poor people of the world, who do to the internet, satellite TV, worldwide cellphones, will discover how wealthy people live. A small example of this is how the civil rights movement to end segregation and the virtual enslavement of our black citizens was brought to an end partially because TV showed them how 'the other half lived'. Think about it.

Yeah, well it's all the same with the apocalyptic doom crowd - just so happens that whatever it is that's going to wipe out 95% of the human race (the NWO, bird flu, Jesus)they're always in that lucky (or needed or deserving) 5% that gets front row tickets to the show.

P.S. After reading about the Guildstones, I note they're inscribed in Imperial, why would someone encouraging an age of reason, brotherhood, and common understanding not use Metric?

Holy Ship! That's scary stuff. The thing that turns my stomach about things like this is that I'm 99% sure the person who erected this would imagine himself (also 99% sure about the him part)to be part of the half million people to be "left behind". And so am I, so who chooses the other 499,999,998?
It's a call for an unprecedented genocide couched in petty philosophy.
That being said I'd love a planet that's pretty much a giant park dotted with lots of super crowded, but pleasant cities, I'm just not willing to advocate killing anyone to do it.
Let's get cracking on those space projects so we can all have our own planets, and planet Amurica can invade the trouble makers!
