Surviving Democracy: The Shock Doctrine

Get ready for it, the economic restructuring of the so-called “third world” is about to hit those of us lucky to live in the “first world” harder than we’d ever imagined.

Here’s a loooooong and in depth review of Naomi’s Klein’s new book The Shock Doctrine – which examines the ‘shock and awe’ strategy of economic restructure that has been in full effect since at least the early 70’s.

For those lacking the necessary endurance to make it through the whole thing I’d suggest skipping down to part 4 “Slamming the Door on History” and part 5 “Shock Therapy in the U.S.A.” and taking it from there (its still a long read but not the marathon length of the full article).
