Homeland Security High

A Maryland highschool is now offering a specialized vocational program in homeland security and defense – all supported and endorsed by the “defense” industry of course.

I always figured the “duct tape your windows in case of chemical attack” strategy reflected the careful and nuanced thinking of a high-schooler.

Excerpt: Students will choose one of three specialized tracks: information and communication technology, criminal justice and law enforcement, or “homeland security science.” David Volrath, executive director of secondary education for Harford County Public Schools, says the school also hopes to offer “Arabic or some other nontraditional, Third World-type language.”

Wow.
